This is my Trumpet Lily, I hope it makes it through the winter.

chickens,chickens,chickens
When I moved in this house I said I would not have chickens in
my kitchen. Well I was wrong, like they say" You can take the girl
out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl."
Here are just a few of my chickens. I do love some chickens. LOL
Click on the picture to enlarge and you can see the chicks up close
and personal. Don't look too close you could see some dust.

Pilot Mountain
This is a view that I grew up with. That's Pilot Mountain off in the distance. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the mountain from my mom's house. When the kids were little we took them up there, and they walked around the knob. The photo was taken about 1/2 mile up the road from my mom's house. If it weren't for the trees in the backyard, you could see it from the hill that my family lives on. Too bad the leaves weren't at peak this weekend. It would have been perfect.

My Sweethearts
Thursday, September 20, 2007
This is a picture my sister gave me one Easter when she came down for a visit. She stoped at a yard sale (runs in the family) on her way here. I love it because it reminds me of my favorite aunt's home place. My aunt Eva is now in a nursing home doing well. Several of my customers have shown interest in the picture. One of my customers even called me one morning and ask me if I sold it to her or did she dream that I did. It is too special to me, to sale. It has been hanging in my shop for about twenty years now . Wish I knew what it is called, or something about it. I have tried to find it on the Internet, but no luck. It is signed but I can't make out the name of the artist.

For The Birds
Riley wanted me to make a picture of his bird feeder he made in Sunday School yesterday.
Miss Cindy this post is for you and Miss Bonnie. Riley dearly loves you both. Thanks for all you
are doing to teach Riley and Bailey about Jesus and his love. Hayden was watching while Riley
put some seed in his feeder. They are such good buddies.

DETAILS
Ok I had to have help on this one. It was my idea and I did make the pictures, but Amy did the collage for me. These are little clips of different things I have decorated my house with. To me all of these little details make my house, Home Sweet Home! You might guess I love chickens (these are only a few) and clocks (I'm a collector) and flowers and plants (you can't have too many). I enjoyed this assignment, I am ready for the next challenge. Be sure to click on the picture so you can get a clearer view of all my details.

Sentiments Of Love
Riley being silly.
Being real silly here. Riley rode his four wheeler around the yard this
morning collecting flowers and mushrooms for me and his
mom. One pile is for me and one pile for his mom.
He is such a sweet boy, most of the time, LOL.

My Bean Stalk
I was down at the shop this evening and spotted my Italian cypress. I was daydreaming about climbing to the top for my pot of gold. I planted that little tree about 30 years ago, and it was about 12 inches tall. I wish I could reach to measure it now. It reaches way above all the live oaks. I can stand on my front porch where I live now and see it. It towers about four or five feet above most of the other trees down there.

Mmmmm Smells Of Summer
Peach cobbler anyone? A real peachy smell.
Honeysuckle vine, smells soooo good.
Magnolia bloom, my favorite. Not the greatest
picture, but all the blooms were in the top of the tree

Weekly Photo Challenge
Amy here, posting mom's "round" photo for the challenge. She asked me to do it because it is so late (nearly 1 a.m.), and she has already gone to bed. Mom, Dad, Jimmy and Sharon all headed over to Savannah this week to take the guys to Bass Pro Shops, and mom got this picture of their aquarium. Pretty cool shot.

I think most everyone on this blog site knows this sweet, sweet lady. Some of you know her better than others. Like Cindy, (her daughter) and Anita, (her daughter-in-law). Well, I am here to tell you, I love her like a mother. Margie Mixson, has been my friend and customer longer than anyone. We have laughed and cried together many times. She is a true friend that has had a lot of bad stuff happen to her since she retired from the post office. I pray all the time that God would heal Margie of the dreadful disease Alzheimer's. I just wish there was something I could do to help her get well. She deserves so much better. If anyone deserves a healing, it is Ms. Margie. There is a special place in heaven for her, that is for sure.

The Old Home Place
Here is a red crepe myrtle down at our old home place. I planted Ivy at the base of it a few years ago and now it has almost covered the whole trunk of the tree. Anyone need any Ivy?
Here is another tree, must be a couple hundred years old, it has been struck by lightening several times while we lived in the old house. I think the limbs look like they are reaching for you, kinda spooky. I miss that old tree, especially the shade it provided. I actually did the blog myself tonight, YAY! I really didn't skip two days posting, I have been working on this since Friday. If all goes well You will get another post in a few days.

Flowers
Granny's tired tonight so, once again, I (Amy) am doing the typing for her. She did, however, take the pictures this afternoon, which is quite an accomplishment, I must say. She says that she is going to have to ease into the blogging world.
Anita, she took the picture of the Mandavilla (I have no idea how to spell that!) for you to show you the red that she got this year. Also, she says that she's never had luck with keeping one alive through the winter either. Who knows...maybe y'all will run into one another when you're out shopping for a new one next spring!
The hibiscus bush has been living for three years and comes back every year. It blooms "it's head off" all summer.
See y'all tomorrow!

Attack of the Spidermen!
Well, I'm finally blogging....or at least I'm taking pictures for a blog. Amy is typing this and has uploaded all of my pictures for me. Therefore, I suppose I'm a blogger-in-training rather than a true blogger at this point. First things first, I guess.
I was "attacked" late this afternoon by two little Spidermen that came from across the yard. They demanded dinner and a bath, both of which they got. Riley and Hayden have become best buds lately and are spending a lot of time together.
We had more rain today, and I snapped a picture of the back porch from the kitchen. I've moved most of my flowers from the front porch to the back porch so that I can enjoy them more (through the kitchen window and the french doors). They seem to be thriving there, as they love the full-sun.
The last picture today is of my chicken "Sambo", who is still ticked off because he didn't get to go to Vacation Bible School this year along with the baby chicks and "Othello", the dove.
That's all for tonight. Stay tuned for more tomorrow. Who knows what it will be....but it WILL be (that is if I can remember to buy some more batteries for the camera! LOL. One day of blogging and my batteries are dead! An omen?! LOL)
