Purple And Yellow Flowers

Here are a few pic's of a new flower bed I made this summer. They are all perennials so I am hoping it will look a lot fuller next summer, that is if I can keep the grass out this summer. I have a lot of O'Stella daylilies in there that I seperated this spring so I think once they get going again it will look a lot nicer. All of these flowers love the hot sun and it gets all day sun.

How does your garden grow?

I planted my frist garden April 15th and I am so proud of myself I wanted to show it off to the world. I made a trip to Lowes and bought a few boards and put this little 1o by 12 box together.
Then I put one scoop of top soil from LCR in the little box and put down the weed block, and just look what happened. I have two yellow squash plants and one green squash, three tomato plants, three bush cumcumbers, three bell pepper and pole beans in the middle.

It is growing and growing and growing, and I am so over joyed. Hope the deer dont find it!!

Cumcumber, I picked one today. Yummy

Yellow squash picked two yesterday and four today. I will be eating them tomorrow. The next two pic's are of a tomato I planted in a big bucket. I started to pick that big one today but, I think I will let it rippen a little more on the vine. I like my tomato's real red. It is a really big one I think one slice will cover a slice of bread.

Maybe the tomato sandwich will be my next post.

Hope you enjoyed my garden tour. LOL

Springtime

This is my climbing rose, blooming so pretty. Willie cut it down to the ground last summer and I wasn't sure it would live (he almost didn't) but it is just beautiful on my deck.

This is one of our palm trees, and it is already blooming, seems kinda early to me.
Another palm, look at all the blooms it has on it.

Poor Othello

Poor Othello, my champagne colored dove. This is a friend of Othello's, he comes every morning looking for Othello. It makes me feel sad when I see him. Something got my dove a few weeks ago. Pulled his head off through the cage. Was it a little foggy this morning? I made this picture about 10:00 a.m. It took a while to lift.
Another foggy picture.

My Sweethearts

Here are two of my favorite boys, Riley and Hayden. They are trying to make a tent with blankets and pillows. Something we have all done as little kids. They were having a blast. This is my only little girl, Bailey. She is going to be a big sister the end of March, frist of April. She is getting a little sister, Victoria Grace and going to call her Tori . She is getting excited.

The sheet-rock ghost

Here is a man that that is not afraid of work. He has been doing a major
renovation on our old house. He came home and nearly scared the grand- kids to death, they said he looked like a ghost. "The Sheet-Rock Ghost" lol
He will kill me if he sees this picture.

chickens,chickens,chickens

When I moved in this house I said I would not have chickens in
my kitchen. Well I was wrong, like they say" You can take the girl
out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl."
Here are just a few of my chickens. I do love some chickens. LOL
Click on the picture to enlarge and you can see the chicks up close
and personal. Don't look too close you could see some dust.

Nice Surprise

I have no clue what this little plant is. I bought it
this summer from Lowes and now it has these pretty
little red flowers on it. I wonder if it can take the cold.

I spy seven butterflies

The butterflies love my Texas sunflowers. I counted at least
seven in this picture. They were covered today and the kids
were having a grand ole time catching them and letting them go.

Pilot Mountain

This is a view that I grew up with. That's Pilot Mountain off in the distance. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the mountain from my mom's house. When the kids were little we took them up there, and they walked around the knob. The photo was taken about 1/2 mile up the road from my mom's house. If it weren't for the trees in the backyard, you could see it from the hill that my family lives on. Too bad the leaves weren't at peak this weekend. It would have been perfect.

This is a picture my sister gave me one Easter when she came down for a visit. She stoped at a yard sale (runs in the family) on her way here. I love it because it reminds me of my favorite aunt's home place. My aunt Eva is now in a nursing home doing well. Several of my customers have shown interest in the picture. One of my customers even called me one morning and ask me if I sold it to her or did she dream that I did. It is too special to me, to sale. It has been hanging in my shop for about twenty years now . Wish I knew what it is called, or something about it. I have tried to find it on the Internet, but no luck. It is signed but I can't make out the name of the artist.

For The Birds

Riley wanted me to make a picture of his bird feeder he made in Sunday School yesterday.
Miss Cindy this post is for you and Miss Bonnie. Riley dearly loves you both. Thanks for all you
are doing to teach Riley and Bailey about Jesus and his love. Hayden was watching while Riley
put some seed in his feeder. They are such good buddies.
